Cagsawa Ruins Afternoon Affair

$

Not being able to travel or even to wander for the longest time makes me almost unaware of the beauty that surrounds me. I’ve been incapable of travel since my last Masbate getaway. Basically, I don’t go schooling and working anymore, that’s why I have no money to support my travels.

And yet! That doesn’t stop me from blogging. I reckon I really don’t have to travel that far just to make this an active blog and to make myself happy.

So my good friend Bunso and I decided to make a sojourn at Cagsawa Ruins Park. It’s just actually a five minute drive from their house to the destination. The weather was gloomy that day but nevertheless we pursued with the plan.

I’ve noticed that the local government did rebuild the bridge already, which was a total wrecked last year mind you. And by that, the Cagsawa Ruins became again more accessible to the tourist. Outside was a lineup of souvenir shops selling local goods. Before entering the park, there’s a charge of 10 pesos per individual and for a vehicle I think.

Inside were also lineups of souvenir and food stalls. A number of tourist were there taking pictures and going around the ruins. The belfry is not the only thing left; there are more ruins at the back part of the area. Also, there’s a resort within the vicinity.

The Mt. Mayon was little bit shy that day, covered mostly with dark clouds. So after getting adequate good shots, we decided to leave before the rain gets us.

XOXO. Ciao.

Gastronomic Quest: Binondo - Once Upon A Time in China

When was my last post? Err. Actually it was ages ago– it was June, before I left for Manila. I’ve been really busy with all this looking-for-a-job-first-before-anything-else stuff. Yeah, I was fortunate to have a job offer as soon as I engaged myself into a week of job hunting. Well, that’s what I came here for so I guess it was okay. I’ve been really busy after that as well, just few days after the job offer; I started my training.

Ni Hao Ma?
Being really busy and pre-occupied doesn’t take off my mind from travelling especially now that I’m closer to CALABARZON and Central Luzon Provinces. I’ve been constantly thinking about going somewhere new to me. Honestly, there’s not much to see in Manila. Or if you’re insistent there is, well, I believe you need money to be able to experience that.

Star City, MOA, Luneta Park were some of the few that you might want to visit when you’re here. But park and malls are too mainstream so I decided to go to Binondo with my co-trainees to experience what the Manila Chinatown has to offer.

I'm always wearing pink pag nag-lalakwatsa. Co-incidence po. :)
Before going there, it is advisable to read first blog post of other travel/food bloggers. That’s what I did, I made a list of where to go, what to order, and the location of the resto based from what I read.

Name: Shanghai Fried Siopao
Location:This was an easy one - located just at the main street of Ong Pin Street. It’s a small store on a curb.
Food: Well, they sell a lot of foods but the only reason I went there was because of the Shanghai Fried Siopao as the name store suggest. Though the Siopao was little bit pricey (P16.00) for its size, add to that that I need to pay for the girls Siopao, it was such a delicious treat. The bottom of it was sort of toasted, almost like a toasted Siopao, but actually it was a fried. I don’t know how they fried it but hey, as long as it’s edible I’ll take it.

Name: Wai Ying Fast Food
Location: Benavidez Street. This one almost consumed all our energy, it was very hard to find. We were going to and fro Ong Pin St. until we finally decided to ask for directions. Damn. They really hide it well.
Food: I put on my list that here is where we are going to have our lunch. The place was full when we arrived so we waited for almost an hour just to get ourselves a seat. We ordered Roasted Duck Congee, Curry Beef Siomai, Century Egg Siomai, and Shrimp Chong Fan. We just ordered one for every dish – just the main purpose was to be able to taste everything on the list. Everything got a five star rating for me except the Century Egg Siomai, it was slimy as it went down my throat, err I think three star will do.

Eto. sulit na sulit.

I forgot if it was Lemon Coke o Coke Lemon o Coke with Lemon. LOL
Name: Shin Tai Shang
Location: Salazar Street. You’ll pass this store going to Wai Ying Fast Food. You just have to read the signage ‘cause you might don’t see this one. When you got inside the store, you’ll think you’re not in the Philippines anymore. It was as if you’re in China or HK, it was a time space warp. LOL.
Food: Basically, we went here just to try the Green Tea Plum Cake. It was actually only Vega who was excited about the visit. I’m not a fan of green tea so I don’t know what to expect. Add to that that the small Cake, more like a Hopia looking sweet than a cake, cost P40.00! Vega bought one and let us take a bite..Poteek! Bumili kami ng tig-iisa! Hahahaha. It was delicious yet not too sweet. Seriously. Each of us bought different flavors then nag-kagatan kami. LOL.

Who would have though na nasa Manila lang kami. hehe.

Mag-lalaway ka sa sarap.
Name: Don Bei Dumpling
Location:Yuchengco Street. Another store that almost dehydrated me to death. Who would have thought that on a deserted street hides a small store that serves the best dumpling I ever tasted.
Food: A plate cost a hundred with 14 pieces of steamed dumplings. Every bite was heaven. It was hot inside and the sauce added more flavor to it. Hay. Ginutom ako habang nagsusulat. Also, the staff that makes the dumplings does the procedures at the table just at the dining area. Customer can actually see it. Well, I don’t know kung gusto lang talaga nila ipakita ang pag-gawa o walang space. Jok! On a serious note, come and visit this place – it’s worth it.

Very jolly people to be with.
Bitin. Arghhhhh.
Name: Masuki
Location: Benavidez Street. Just a few walk from Wai Ying Fast Food.
Food:  What was on my list was to try Beef Wanton Noodles and Special Siopao Taipao here. But as much as I want to, my body won’t permit me to do so. LOL. We were so FULL by the time we went here but as long as there’s food I’ll take it. Luisa and I ordered Siopao and softdrinks here, kami na lang talaga kumain – suko na si Pam at Vegs. The Siopao comes with a delicious sauce that they gave on such a generous amount, malulunod ka. The size of the Siopao was enough to make my tummy so FULL. LOL. Nakakatawa kasi parang hindi naman. Peace Lui! Haha.

Sayang, walang picture yung sauce.
After night shift to kaya antok at di-shades lahat e. Maka-siopao lang. hehe.

Ciao.

Gastronomic Quest: Day Off Foodie Trip

Just when you decided to enjoy your day because it’s you day off, the rain will ruin everything. Anyway, here are some of the food store I went to this weekend just to release the stress from work.

Name: Choco Mocco
Location: SM Manila
Food: Fruit Fondue
I was with my friend Rose and her sister Kay at SM Manila last Sunday, instead of watching a movie and heading off to Intramuros after, we just decided to stay at the mall and went to a small store and try some desserts. No choice, it’s already flooded outside SM.

Kuya (tindero): Uhmmm Banana.. Apple.. Melon.. Marshmallow..
Me: Ahhh marshmallow. >.<

Di ba nice ng presentation? Especially yung isang fruit - marshmallows. :D
We asked him twice and answered us again with the same answer. So it’s confirmed, fruit ang marshmallow. LOL. Actually the dessert was very presentable. There was a candle in the middle of the plate under the cup of chocolate. It was nice to eat the fruits (marshmallow) covered with hot chocolate but I’m really not a uber sweet lover. Though it was worth the try and gives me the idea to try at home with my ‘lil sister and nieces. Madali lang yun, sliced fruits and Ricoa. Hehe. Kaso matagal pa ako uuwi ng Bicol. :(

I bought two pants. :)
Name: Pan de Manila
Location: Boni Avenue
Food: Pandesal and Cheese Pandesal (na kinakain ko habang nagsusulat)
I remember that there was a Pan de Manila branch just close to my area so I went there this morning. I discover the store when I was walking from Guadalope Station to Boni Satation one hot afternoon. Hahaha. Naghihirap na ako. Actually I just tried to walk, atleast I was able to save ten pesos. : ) So back to my foodie trip, I went there just to buy three pieces of regular pandesal and one cheese pandesal. The latter was a stand out because it was soft and cheesy. Hahaha. Parang wala nanamang saysay post ko! The place was sort of homey to me in a sense that I love the simplicity of the store – mostly wood and bricks. Just the problem was, they don’t have a dining area so no choice for me but to take the order out.

"Bring home our warm pandesal and relive memories of yesterday."
Cheesy cheese Pandesal.
Name: Amber
Location: Boni Avenue
Food: Pancit Malabon and Delicious Pichi-Pichi
After taking out my order from Pan de Manila, I went to Amber which is just beside Pan de Manila. I asked the staff which one is their best dish and he said Pancit Malabon, so I order one. I also added Delicious Pichi-Pichi. Good thing was, they have a dining area so I ate my pandesal there together with the Pancit. What’s great about the Pancit Malabon was the lettuce adding crispiness in every bite. It worth the money and I enjoyed the place for myself. After that I was so full that I decided to cancel my tusok-tusok plan.

Original Pancit Malabon and Delicious Pichi-Pichi.

Ciao.

Gastronomic Quest: Chicken Bon Chon

A new establishment was being put up at the second floor of Alphaland Southgate Mall where our office is located.I just lately realized that it’s a branch of Chicken Bon Chon! Whoa! God knows I love chicken so He made a branch closer to me. lol.

The very first time I saw a branch of this store was in MOA. I really wanted to try it that time but I know my friends were on tight budget so we just had some lousy dinner at the food court.

Nakakahiya sa mannequin. Nakatutok samin tatlo nila Bebe Gel at Bebe Memeng.
Anyways, back to reality, so there it was! After my shift last Thursday, together with my two Bebe’s, we went there to have our brunch. The place was almost full when we went there or just because it’s not that capacious I think. But anyway, what we’re after was the food so we ordered Thigh Chicken Rice Box, Leg/Drumstick Rice Box, Fries, and Beef Bulgogi Ricebox.

LOL.

What’s good about when you’re having your order is that they will ask you if what chicken part would you like to have. Since masiba ako, syempre thigh part kasi hate ko ang drumstick. At dahil two pieces binili ko, I had the privileged to have both flavors – spicy and garlic.

A proof of how much i love chicken regardless of its taste *Zai. lol.
All in all, I was satisfied it’s just that the rice was served on such a small portion – bitin. Chicken wise – it’s yummy, but I’ll still continue my gastronomic quest to search for the best fried chicken in town!

Ciao.

Bag of Beans

My friend said, "Starbucks na lang tayo!".

We were already tired going to and fro just to look for Bag of Beans. I almost gave up myself to Starbucks but I said "Meron naman niyan sa Manila!". Good thing as the local folks advice that we should really try Bag of Beans. Although they said it was expensive but it's really worth to visit the Restaurant.

From Olivares take a Jeep (stressed ko ha JEEP, wag tricycle kasi anlakas makasingil) going to Aguinaldo. Since we're not really familiar with the place, kinulit talaga namin si Kuya driver. Fare is 8 php when you take the jeep rather than 20 php EACH when you take the tricycle.

Friend ko: Kuya sa Bag of Beans ha!
Driver: Okay po Maam!
.. After few moments...
Friend ko: Kuya baba mo kami sa Bag of Beans ha?!
Driver: Opo Maan!
.. Minutes later...
Friend ko: Bag of Beans na Kuya?!?
Driver: Kunti na lang po!

So you think we did reached the place? Hahaha. Of course we did, sa kulit ba naman ng friend ko.

Ganda ng facade. At first i thought it was really just a coffee shop, pero its a resto/coffee/bake shop.
The place was more than i expected it to be. It reminds me of home with all the trees, plants and wood furniture's. We choose to have our food at the cabanas where you pay 1,000 php yet it's consumable for three hours and you will love the bed type chair with pillows.

Ansarap mag senti diyan while sipping a glass of cold coffee, low!
di naman ako maka-hot coffee eh. lol.
We ordered immediately as we got to our sit, please just bear if the waiter/waitress can't accommodate you that fast because they have lots of customers.  Aside from their outdoor area they still have the buffet area but we opted to eat outdoor with all those green plants, lovely adornments, and cool air. Then late in the afternoon, though i am not too sure if they perform everyday, were kids from orphan house who were really good in singing and dancing.

Then after few moments our food arrived! I strongly recommend you try Bag of Beans when you went to Tagaytay.

Banana Wallnut ~ Php 195.00
Ayos to.
Black Forest Frappe ~ Php 145.00
My order, love this.
Blueberry Cheese Cake ~ Php 150.00
You Must Try This. The best.
Carrot Cheese Cake ~ Php 150.00
We thought it was really a cake until it was served.
Frozen Chocolate ~ Php 150.00
Iced Caramel Macchiato ~ Php 115.00
Iced Choco  Macchiato ~ Php 115.00
Parang same lang nung Iced Caramel pero i dunno sa taste.
Iced White Mocha ~ Php 115.00
Strawberry Cheese Cake ~ Php 150.00
Order ko din and I loved this too.
We haven't even finished the three hours kasi ang bbibilis namin kumain. lol. Seriously it was late already so we paid our bills and good thing a bus passed by Bag of Beans going to Manila. I'm coming back for more when i set foot in Tagaytay again.

My Grown Up Christmas List

HELLO Everyone. This post is a reply to a fun tag from Zai Zai Salonga of Zai Moonchild. Though this may seem a little bit late for the tag since I last saw it yet not too late for Christmas right? So here’s my wish list of 6 gifts I dream for Christmas.

Digital Camera– I’m more of a realist for the mean time since even I insist that probably out there someone might give me a SLR, kaso wala talaga. Haha. So I’ll take into consideration a digital camera since it’s more feasible.

Sony W630. Balak ko sanang bilhin with my 13th Month
kaso may iba akong plano sa pera..hay.
Jacket– Even before I work for Call Center where jacket seems to be a little bit fashion statement, I really do love jackets already. From cardigan to hoodies to  varsity (yung sosyal ha, di yung pang araw araw ng mga teens. Haha)

Jacket!
Shoes– If girl love shoes, so does men. I prefer branded shoes kasi mas nakaka boost siya ng confidence especially when you are among a guy group. Haha.

Shoes. Shoes. Shoes. Love.
Phone– BB, HTC, or an iPhone. I’m really not into gadgets pero damn, I’m almost behind. As a call center and with an account for cellphones, looking at those gadgets makes me realized how I need to work more to get my own.

Kahit iPhone 3g lang ayus na sakin.
Healthy, toned, white body– All this years, pangarap na lang ba to? Eto talaga, no one can give this to me but me myself and I. Simula ng ma-heartbroken ako at pumunta ako Manila, gusto ko umuwi ako sa Bicol na maganda na katawan ko para makita ako ng liniligawan ko dati how much I improved. I’ll get my sweetest revenge! Jok! I need to do this for my own not for anyone else.

I can SO see myself having this great body.. Hehe.
So true.

Lacoste. It COST so much.

Eto pahabol pa, Questions from Patti of Ameliorate:

You are a tour guide of the present. Choose someone from history who you’d give free tour?
My deceased lolo and cousin. Wala ako maisip na sikat na tao from history eh and if ever I tour ko sila wala ding special connection. Yung loved ones ko na lang. I’ll show them how much the world have changed.

Your life is going to have a movie adaptation. What genre would it be?
Musical. With a touch of drama and comedy. Depende sa mood swing ng music.

Glee.
How was your pre-internet life like?
It was all about productivity and innocence.

How would you react if you find out you are a royal blood?
Tamang pa humble at yabang. Haha.

Really. Blimey. (English accent)
What are your views on bacon?
I really don’t like it anyway so wala. More into eggs, ham, at hotdog.

Show off your favorite comfort food and tell what makes it so awesome?
Pork and Chicken Adobo. Come on guys? Do I still need to explain?

May dahon pa oh..art. Adobo.
What was the kindest thing that a stranger did for me?
Wala naman yata. For the record, ako yung stranger para sa ibang tao and I did few kind things for them.

What’s your fave photograph taken during your last trip/out of town trip? Share the story behind it.
My cowboy picture from Masbate last Rodeo Festival. What I love about the picture was how I looked so cowboy with the hat and sleeves, tas may car pa sa likod. Lakas maka-haciendero. FACUNDO!

Facundo! Pakainin ang mga kabayo!
If the world ends on December 21, 2012, how will you spend the last day of your life?
Will be at the office taking calls. Boring right? Pero it’ll be sad if I’m far from my family tas I’m all alone here.

Okay. End of thy world. Basta di masakit ha? Lol.
Why am I awesome?
Because I’m changing for the better.

Ciao.

Last weekend, me and my mom went to Cavite to attend her friends daughter civil wedding. Well, it went well but what was unexpected about our short stay was, we were invited by her friends brother to come over with them and spend the rest of the night at their rest house. Spell sosyal..uhmm S-I-L-A. Hahaha. So after the wedding we were picked up by Uncle Boy at Novelete, Cavite and we went straight to Alfonso.

Welcome sa Resthouse.. sana may ganito kami.

Papuntang attic. Ganda lang ng structure ng bahay.
Our bed. Sa sobrang lamig an sarap matulog ng mahaba.
Obvious naman kay mama o! hahaha.

Mga alipin! linisin ang bakuran! lol

Yan ang trip ni mader.
Me and mama.
Tas may farm pa sa likod bahay.
Talong, lettuce, pechay, ampalaya, sili, name it.
This is a miracle fruit. Pinatry sakin, una take the fruit inside your mouth tas let the flavor spread. After, sipsipin mo yung kalamansi, SOBRANG tamis na nya. As in Wow.

What i loved about our stay was the warm welcome, the food, the place, the BED, and most of all the cold weather. Napaisip tuloy ako, i want to buy a lot in Tagaytay or Alfonso. Hahaha. Impulsive masyado.

May mabait na aso dun. Very friendly.

Special pic for mader alone..hehehe.
Di ka magugutom dito, andaming gulay.
Side trip sa Tagaytay tas PAGCOR Casino.
Loob at labas ng bahay.
Ayoko na sana umalis at mag stay pa sana ng matagal, kaso best thing must come to an end. Pero sana maulit ulit yun. Really had a great weekend indeed. Thanks kay Uncle Boy and to her wife for the accomodation and warm welcome. :)

Happy Christmas Guys!
Ciao.

I always make it to a point that my year end post always came last from other bloggers para wala ako kaagaw. Haha. So 2012 went by so fast that i actually forgot what was the most memorable thing that happened to me. Well here are some of the highlight of my dear 2012.

1. Lost and Got new job.

It was actually a little bit too sad to think that i lost my first job last February. I think it was for the better na din. Funny is, we all now resides at Mandaluyong. Small world indeed. Well the best thing about this year as well was after 5 months of being unemployed, I got my new job as a Call Center Agent.

Former workmates.
2. Travel. Travel. Travel.

Masbate Rodeo trip.
Rapu - Rapu trip.
Holy Week.
3. Kain kain din kasi. Laki na tuloy chan ko.

Uhmm yeah. This year i'll try to muster all my strength to eat only a cup of rice para lumiit na chan ko at maka pag fit na ulit ako.

Binondo food trip.

Miss ko na to.
4. Meet new friends.

As i went to Manila, i was not only blessed with a new job but with a set of new friends who helped me adjust a little bit faster here in the troubled city of Manila. lol. I love these things (that's what we called each other). haha.

Ang di makumple-kumpletong Team Mikka.

Team Mikka (The Things)
Mikka - Ang head nurse. Moody yang TL ko pero WTF. Hahaha.
Mean yet sweet.
Karelle - Mulit cultured teammate ko. Korean slash Ifugaoeño daw siya. Daw.
Ira - The sweetest among the bunch pero mean din yan minsan. haha.
Kath - Ang pinaka creative. Aalis na siya sa team. :(
Laurice - Si crush ko. Lage na lang siya puyat. :(
Geline - Pinaka magaling mag rapport for me. I know how it feels... Peace Geline.
Len - This thing? The most understanding person I met in Manila. Wow Len. Manila yun ha.
MJ - Absenteeism is his game. Peace MJ! haha.
Coca - ..Cola. Epitome of a perfect confidence. Naks!
Maricel - Ang mommy ng team. Well, she's Ate for me.
Sai - Pinakamabait kaya lage inaabuso. Laban laban din kasi!
Dan - Our new teammate.
I respect him so much. Srsly.

One day ko lang yan nakita when i went home on November 1.

6. My dear blogger friends.

I've been much more active with blogging this year and i would like to thank Zai, Joanne, Arvin, Sunny, Rizalenio, Asiong, Ms. Joy, Palaboy, MEcoy, Kulapitot, Jess and the other na di ko na mamemention na you welcomed me sa blogosphere with an open hands.. or arms yata. Ang hirap i please ng ibang blogger na kahit comment ka na at all, di ka pa rin nila pinapansin kaya this people are the best one to keep. Sana dumami pa sila. Love you guys.

Be good to me 2013.

Meeting the Stars Behind the Blogs

John Paul ‏@jppaopaul
@akoJUNJUNosida HAHAH mention everything you noticed na mali, lahat ng weaknesses, defficiencies at negatives. Dahil jan maguunfollow kami:)

---- Isang pagbabanta. LOL.

Pao and I were conversing over Tweeter the other day about what will be our post about with the recent success of the very first Pinoy Blogger Outreach. Of course, fellow bloggers immediately did a post about that. Well it seems overpopulating if i will make the same post so here's what i did, I'll discuss to you guys about how great were the people i met on the outreach.

Zai of Zai Moonchild - He's the tallest among the bloggers i met so far, syempre ako sunod sa height. As funny he may seem on his blog, he's a little bit of a silent person. O may dinaramdam siya by that time. Hmm.

Joanne of Joanne's Blog - One of the nicest. Ang ganda ng katawan niya, her hair, and her smile. Kung iisipin bagay talaga sila ni Zai.

Christian of Kwentong Iskwater Mula sa Iskwater (The guy in black cardigan) - He's outspoken and smart. It really does show on his blogposts. He made the day happy and gay with his punchlines and all.

Kuya Mar of UNPLOG... - He looks young for his age. Ang dali maka-connect kahit malaki gap namin. Just show how a person can truly get along easy with just a smile, yun sekreto niya. Hehe.

Josh and RJay of KULAPITOT- Na overwhelm naman ako sa dalawang to. Well Josh is indeed shy but  you can definitely see how good person he is. He's funny, just give him time to adjust at maingay na yan. haha. On the other hand, Jikoy, who was very supportive kahit na di sya blogger. Really shows that anyone, as long as there is willingness to help, can be part of PBO. Mag-blog ka na kasi.

Ate Arline of The Pink Line - Akala ko talaga ang taray ni Arline. I just randomly meet her on the blogosphere pero we really don't exchange comments that much. Pero di naman totoo yung first impression last cause she's nice to everyone in the group. She has A BIG HEART for less fortunate. If you know what i mean. Jok! Hehe.

Pao of To Infinity and Beyond!! - Pinakatahimik like me. haha. First time namin sila mameet (bloggers) so natural reaction na yung silent at shy. Pero napaka kulit din niyan sa Twitter as shows his tweet above.

Deo of  Uhmmm ..err?- I'm not too sure kung blogger tong si Deo. He made us laugh all day, well i dunno kay Pao hahahah, with his witty lines and gorgeous smile.

Empi of Kol me eMPi - Spell tahimik.Ahh define pala. Or I think nahihiya din siya.

Axl of AXL Powerhouse Production Inc. - Hahahaa. Seriously di ko alam kung panu ko sya tatawagin on the first meeting. Well, pronounce AXL? I just waited someone to call him and presto! hahaha. Alam ko na i pronounce. Napakajolly ni Axl? nakabitamina lang? lol

Kuya Rix of Kwentong baliw ng isang Rixophrenic - (The guy in blue, hindi yung sa likod) Short time ko lang siya na kasama at nakausap. Late kasi. LATE. lol. Pero he's fun to be with. Syempre di pa kami close so di ko naman masyado inaapproach no, kakahiya kaya.

Rap of The -SHIYAROWTH_ Game!!!! - (Hanapin sya sa picture!) Ang naka Rugged Tuesday. hahaha. Isa ring nakakatuwa, pede sila mag join forces nila Deo at Senyor.

Sayang wala si Kamahalan of Chateau de Archieviner at si Ate Grace of Gracie's Network. Better luck next time and i'm totally excited for that! Although you're far, it's good to know your full support for the outreach.

Dinner after an exhausting day.
Picture picture din kasi.
At White Cross Children's House
My baby Aila. Namimiss ko na siya.

All in all, i was extremely happy to meet a lot of new friends. Before, I thought blogging was only a way to share your thoughts and opinion online and the other way around. Well, who have though we can form a group and set a goal to help those less fortunate. We can make difference in our own small way. Just let God be the guidance and you're all set.

Ciao.

I want to share something i found from my notebook last July. A paper clip given to me by a friend when i was just starting with my training as a Callboy.. ay! Call Center Agent pala.

Well, the only thing is the authors name is not on the paper clip. So whoever who wrote this tips, if there's any chance you read this in the future, di ko po siya kini-claim. I just want to share it. Here's the first one:

#1 Try Something New Everyday

It doesn't need an expensive ticket to have the mindset of a traveler. Even the office that you have been walking into the past 10 years can be a good venue for a personal growth. Try a new spot to work in, a different flavor of cereal, or a new e-mail password. The fact that your mind is jolted to the newness can trigger your creativity.

If travelling is something that's being deprived from you, well let me say this, travelling doesn't necessary mean going over to a far place or taking a plane. There's a lot of options that you can choose from in order for you to travel. Try reading books, blogging, or surfing the net. It only takes imagination. Or if you really want to take it literally, try taking the MRT from North Ave to Taft tas balik ka ulit. Hehe.

With an itchy feet same as like me, ang hirap ng andami mong gustong puntahan pero di mo pa ma-afford. That's why i resort to  blogging for the mean time, at least when time comes it's my chance to go over to that place, andami ko ng alam. Di mo kelangan ng madaming pera. Kelangan lang ay time. Sa mga takot naman mag-travel dahil kuno takot sa aksidente, sige kayo, an laki-laki at ang ganda-ganda ng mundo tas di niyo man lang nakita. Kaya explore explore din!

Word To Ponder: "Travel the world to your heart's content but make sure to leave a trail for you to be able to go back..."

Travel Update: I'm excited with my upcoming Baguio trip. I'll be in charge for the itinerary.

Spicy Side Trip: Zai, Joanne, Senyor, Arline, Empi, and I went to Eastwood yesterday and watched Les Miserables. Then we had a sweet treat to ourselves.. literal na sweet at treat. lol.

Ansarap neto.. tas libre pa..mas lalong sumarap.

Ciao.

#Learn New Language

People who knew more language had to be shown to be smarter. While I suppose multilingualism is inherent for most Filipinos, I guarantee your mind will be squeezed (in a good way) when you try a language that is far removed from what you already know. Try Russian, Herbrew, German, Bisaya, or any language with an unfamiliar pattern. You will learn not just grammar and vocabulary, but also the culture of a people in that way.

I've been to Visayas three times and the longest time was when I had my OJT at Crown Regency Hotel in Cebu City. It was for three weeks. Aside from the adjustment from missing our family back in Bicol, we also have to adjust in terms of communicating with the people around. SOBRA. So english-englishan talaga kami.

Isang factor when travelling especially if it's in the province is to make sure you have someone with you who knows how to converse and understand the local dialect. Ang tao kasi pag alam na turista ka, they'll take advantage of you. Take more money from you. So dapat may middle man, yung mag nenegotiate sa sasakyan at kung anu-ano pang fees.

Word To Ponder: "The World is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page."

Lol.

Ok. lol. So solo pic ba ito? hahahah :3
On the way to Cebu. I miss you Cebu.
Believe it or believe it. Hayy. Panget.

#Reserve at least 15 Minutes of Your Day for Creative Habit

I strongly recommend using the same medium, such as writing, drawing, photography, etc. This way, if you look back at your work after a month, you would realize that these small multiples add up to an awesome project. Put them all in a blog and help inspire other people.

This one is so true. Blogging is a way for a person to be more observant around him. Take me for example, I take more time to eat, look, and appreciate things around me every time I travel. Why? Because I write the stuff I see around me. I want the feeling na tipong napaparamdam ko dun sa taong nagbabasa na he's been there or attracting him/her to go to that place. Well, how? Secret is be more creative in your way  of writing. Take time to read books and most especially blogs, make your pictures more captivating, and make sure your readers can relate to your post kahit di sila travel bloggers.

Word To Ponder: "The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step."

Spicy Side Story: 'Nga pala I have my new baby, his name is Moymoy. My new camera! Thanks sa nag-pangalan sa kanya.

Syempre Moy can't take a picture of himself, so i used my phone cam.
Mejo malabo nga lang. And yes.. hahaha, may mukha si Moy.

And to all the bloggers out there. Please support Pinoy Bloggers Outreach, A community of bloggers with a unified vision to take the blogging experience to the next level by fulfilling our mission to share our heartfelt support to the less fortunate (kinupya ko na lang sa page ha? lol). You can help by donating cash or goods. You can even join our community. Don't be just a blogger! Be a blessing to OTHERS.

Me: To be OTHERS! So bloggers will help me. lol. (just kiddin')

Bellini's La Pasta Italiana

Last Monday, February 4, I had a dinner meet up with my blogger friends and with the most awaited OFW bloggers - si Arvin at Dadi Jay! Actually, I was not expecting that we'll be having dinner that night, pero buti na yun kesa naman lunch ginawa namin, but anyways, we went to Bellini's La Pasta Italiana Restaurant in Quezon City. It was my first time eating there and so far I was very impressed!

The food was to die for. I dunno the names of the food that we ordered. Yung isang platter ng food, I only got the chance to taste the chicken dish pero fully satisfied na ako. Masarap din yung lemon drink nila. Nakain ko pa yata yung lemon grass na I believe for garnish kaya pa simple ko na lang linuwa. lol. Grabe, sira nanaman ang diet ko pero pag may ganito, iniisip ko it's a blessing so I take as much as my tummy can.

Seat where actress Bea Alonzo sat..anu daw? ay ewan.

Paintings at the wall, ceiling and even at the powder room.

The table where One More Chance cast shoot the film.

The place was very cozy. I love the bottle of wines, paintings, and the bricked walls making  you feel almost at a real Italian resto. Well, Italian resto talaga sila so na-achieved nila yun with all those adornments. Though it was dimly lit, you can definitely ask the crew to turn on the lights.

The owner was very accommodating as well. I  politely asked him if I can take pictures for my blog, with the help of one of his Italian speaking crew, he said yes. The owner can speak Parseltongue..juk! Italian but he sometimes asked his crew for translation especially when conversing with the customers. And he can speak English and few Tagalog words as well. Very nice old man.

Breadsticks.
Seafood pizza.
Eto ang masarap!
Of course, minsan mo lang sila makita so dapat may souvenir.
Thanks to Kamahalan for the Starbucks.
Thanks to Dadi Jay for the chocolates and the treat.
At Bellini's (One More Chance)

Popoy: She love me at my worst, you has me at my best. At binalewala mo lang lahat yun and you chose to break my heart.

Certi~Fried Chicken: Classic Savory

$

So far, as in so far, aside from my fave Jobee Chicken Joy, Classic Savory's chicken is one of the best tasting chicken I ever tasted. Thinking it was just the same old taste I'll get from every chicken dish I ordered before, I believe I was wrong this time.

Just this week, me and my teammates headed to MOA to have a team lunch. Original plan was Zark's Burger but ended up postponed because I was late. Ansaya niyo guys! :(

So moving forward, we finally decided to have our lunch at Classic Savory. Seriously I was not familiar with the place but with how satisfied I was when we ate there, I'll definitely try it again.

Nag-rereview ng kakainin. Hirap na hirap eh.

Food wise, it was divine, especially the chicken, one word ~ masarap. The skin was crispy yet it's not your usual chicken skin covered in flour or some breading mix. :P

Savory Whole Chicken. Php 345.00.
Battered Fish Fillet. Php 195.00. See the yellowish sauce at the bottom of the plate?
I dunno pero I think it was the butter used for cooking. This dish was a standout as well.
Cream of Corn and Crab. Php 195.00. Perfect to start the meal before the main dish.
Chopseuy Con Lechon. Php 195.00.
kunti medyo yung laman sa loob nevertheless with all the food I ate, I was more than full.
Maliit lang ang branch nila sa MOA.

Total cost was Php 1,445.00! The share was Php250.00 for six people.

Mighty Morphin Power Ranger. Di mo silala kung di ka 90's kid. lol.
A slice of heaven.
My first official entry sa Certi- FRIED chicken project! Wow. Pasensya na kung sobrang tagal.

The Ibalong Play

I was really grateful last Saturday to finally watched this EPIC play Ibalong directed by Tuxqs Rutaqui at Cultural Center of the Philippines. It was very unexpected to be invited by one of my workmates (Choi) who happens to have a free access to the play for four people. I was one of the lucky four who got free access.

Regular ticket prize is P800.00, P400.00 for students and P640.00 for senior citizens so it was really a huge savings for our pocket. The play started 8 in the evening so we were 30 minutes earlier. I was excited but i never told anyone. The Ibalong was our local folklore in Abay and I'm a proud Albayano of course. Seeing my very own culture rose up and played at the stage was really overwhelming. It was actually a musical play.

The play went smooth sailing for 2 hours and I was like always at the edge of my seat. Ohh I really got mesmerized by the actors who played their part very well. They sang very good as well. I really enjoyed the play. Peksman! Kudos to the director, cast, stage and costume designers, and the musical band who added more magic to the play.

We were at the very back which I think was a let
down cause I can't see the actors very well.
After the play.. teka..ayoko na mag english. We proceeded to the main hall for a "greet and pose" with the actors. Sa susunod poporma na ako like long sleeves with a tie. Mostly nanuod mga oldies and teens na ka age ko (naman) who were high-school students I believe. Mga elgisherow sila.

The cast after the play. Napa-palakpak talaga ako
With the sawa (snake). Lamang lang siya ng isang
paligo sakin pero atleast ako TAO..sya AHAS!
With the cutest thing on earth that night kasama  yung girl na naka-white at ang bata sa play. JUK! Yung bata po yung cutest thing on earth that night at second ako. Ang GALING nya kumanta.

After the play kumain kami kasi 2 hours yung play so we were like famished? Indi. Uhaw lang ako ng sobra. So we tried Tea & Co., masarap. Alam mo naman ako, madali ma please. So ayown! Pa-play play na lang kami! haha. Arte niyo! Shangaps, click the picture for a clearer view.

Pers Taym sa Baguio!

As of the very moment, I'm still in the process of thinking what to post after I had my first Baguio trip (first time for others in my team as well). My mind and body is still exhausted from the five days getaway that we had.

I don't want to rush things up just to have something to post. I will take my time. Editing and constructing the story would take a lot of time. Trust me, I have a lot of stories to tell that March might be full about my Baguio trip. Nyaha.

For the mean time, here's a preview of what to expect for the coming days.

Nyaha. I'll make it up to you guys sa day off ko.
Miss you friends! Miss you! Hugs and Kisses.

Visco's Resto and Cake Shop

Me and my glutton friends (..nyaha) just had our lunch at Sizzling Plate on our first day at Baguio. After that, I insisted that we go to Visco's as a fellow blogger recommended the place for it offers the best strawberry cake in town. Since it's just a few steps away from where we had our lunch, we decided to get ourselves a slice of the most talked about strawberry cake.

First thing that would really catch your attention when you enter the resto was the strawberry cakes at the glass display. To think that they also offer other flavored cakes and meals but it seems like the strawberry cake is really their trademark. Kaya ayown! The supposed to be slice of cake only was made into a whole cake (na ini-slice din naman in the end at parang di fair ang hati, kung sino man nag slice nun..ayheytyu!).

So how was the taste? It was not good. It was actually.. the BEST strawberry cake I ever tasted? Nyaha. No, on a very very serious note, I was with seven glutton people and they also had the same reaction about how great the cake was. The filling, frosting, and even the very cake itself was delicious. The only thing is that the strawberries are a 'lil bland for me (I-stress ko ha, for ME, I don't know with the other people I'm with if that's really how the fruit should taste like) already but I'm telling you glutton friends out there, it won't spoil your sweet tooth.. uhmm o sweet teeth? Nyaha.

Ketchup Food Community

After the Grand Parade at Baguio's downtown, we headed straight to 50's Diner to have our lunch (lunch nanaman post ko? Nyaha). We were famished about the early morning events so I decided that we go to 50's Diner where they offer large servings of food. However, it was full with glutton people when we arrived. Sad. Disturbing. Hay. There were even a lot of people still falling in line waiting for their turn to come. So I decided to transfer to perhaps one of the closest food establishment in the area: The Ketchup Community. A place divided into 5 restos offering various set of food from different cultures. The place has a very nice forest-ish ambiance.

The place Ramah Sate was the lucky pick for that day. It offers Indo-Malay cuisine.. exciting! The place has its own unique approach. Very traditional looking with the help of all those embellishments and wooden furniture's. As for the food, here it is:

Cherry Iced Tea.
Laksa. Masarap kasi coconut milk ang base ng soup tas may kunting anghang as
shown on the orange thing floating on the soup.
Nasi Goreng. I dunno kung eto ba talaga name neto, parang juk ang name.
So far, with presentation and plating, eto ang pinaka stand out.
Sate Manis. Masarap din to! Medyo maanghang.
Sate Pomorogo. Masarap din sya. Mukhang same lang ng lasa nung Sate Manis.
Sate Madura.
Arghhh the name still brings bad memories! Burn! Burn! Seriously, I was sweating, teary-eyed, red-face, and tongue out when I ate this food from hell! Tas may after taste pa sya, di lang yung anghang! but bitterness! Total pasakit! In the end shinare ko na lang sya at niluwa ang iba. Sorry. Arghhh!

Sate Padang! Ay HEYT yu!
To save myself from eternal damnation (nyaha), my friends share their viands with me. Tas I immediately asked the waiter to serve me the dessert, Aic Kasang!

Ais Kasang. It was okay but not that great, just the right thing for me to make my burden less easy to carry. Nyaha.
How was the experience guys? Saya niyo!
What shows is a happy me, but I cry deep inside. Nyahahahahaha.
If ever magawi kayo sa Baguio City tas magutom. Maisipang kumain sa Ketchup Community. Mapag-tripang mag-kayayaan sa Samah Sate. Always bear this on your mind, sa menu - may siling katabi ang name ng mga dishes to indicate how spicy it is. Pag tatlong sili guys, maniwala kayo, nag power tripping ang nagluto at totoong maanghang ang inihain sayo.

Ciao.
